In the Classroom

Albany Community Charter School is committed to each student’s success in the classroom and beyond. We believe that all children can be educated, all children can excel, and all children can succeed if put in the right environment, held to high standards and offered love and support. That’s why we offer a small-school environment focused on mutual respect between students, teachers, families and the community as a whole.

Our elementary school (grades K-5) offers three classrooms per grade with an average class size of 23 students. Each class is taught by a lead teacher and cooperating teacher who are both actively engaged in all levels and of instruction for each student. Classrooms become a second family to the students, who blossom socially and academically in this nurturing, disciplined environment.

Middle school classes (grades 6-8) also average 23 students. Teachers are subject area-focused, which enables them to specialize and support students on a deeper academic level. Students finish middle school with pride, knowing who they are and what they are capable of achieving. Personal standards are set high, readying graduates for success as they move into high school and beyond.

“It’s not a relationship for a year. It’s a relationship for life.”
